I welcome 2026 with enthusiasm and optimism, but before I look forward to exciting, creative opportunities in the new year, I need to reflect on the past year.

Early in the morning of June 6, 1944, thousands of brave soldiers, boys mostly, jumped from the dark skies above France to begin the necessary process of ridding Europe, and the world, of Adolph Hitler and the Nazi regime.

So, with temperatures on Saturday feeling far more like summer than spring, it seemed only natural to head to the beach for an afternoon of photography. Revere Beach, our nation's first public beach, seemed the right place to go with my camera for an afternoon of seaside street photography
