Photography by Don Toothaker

I am not trying to take a picture of something. I am trying to create an image of how I feel about something.
"Photograph What You Feel"
This simple mantra is the thesis and driving force behind all that I do as a photographer and as a photography coach.
I am a self-taught photographer who has been happily photographing a wide variety of subjects for over 20 years while teaching others to do so as well. As the Director of Photo Adventures for Hunt's Photo and Video in Massachusetts since 2017, I lead numerous instructional photo walks in the greater Boston and New England area as well as a wide variety of photography workshops locally, nationally, and internationally. I am deeply committed to sharing the unique beauty of the world through the power of my photography, creative energy, and humble attempts at writing. I truly love my work which, honestly, feels less like a job and much more like a calling. What I do as a photographer and as a photography instructor will always be a wonderful, enriching labor of love. Thank you to all who have helped and supported me along the way.
